Homeschool
In recent years, homeschooling has dramatically increased in popularity. Homeschooling provides a unique environment where your child can receive an education tailored to meet their individual needs, to advance at their own pace and affords the freedom to explore their interests in ways that are usually not possible in a larger classroom. In short, I think homeschooling can be a great alternative to traditional school and I really enjoy teaching it! I offer services in the following subjects:
- Algebra I and II
- Trigonometry
- Geometry
- Precalculus
- Calculus
- Physics
As most of my students generally intend to transfer back to a traditional school at some point, I generally adopt a curriculum that closely matches that of the child’s school to ensure a seamless transition. Alternatively, I also have experience creating customized courses for special situations, including accelerated and hybrid courses. One of the most wonderful things about homeschool is its ability to meet your child exactly where they are at – the definition of which is subject to change on a daily basis. My aim is to create a dynamic environment that can accommodate the intermittent leaps forward as well as the points of struggle where extra attention may be necessary. The other aspect of homeschooling that I hold in high regard is the fact that you and I will be able to work together to create the ideal learning environment. Whatever your hopes, dreams, and goals for your child may be, I am well equipped to help you make these things reality.
Online Tutoring
In addition to in-home sessions, I also offer online tutoring via Skype, Boost Academy and Wyzant. The platforms that each of these applications offer allow me to conduct tutoring sessions using a two-way whiteboard that both parties can write on using their touchpad, a stylus or their finger. Images of homework assignments and other visual media can also be shared easily. The whiteboards are saved and sessions are recorded to be played back later if the student needs to hear part of the lesson again. The flexibility of these applications allow both the student and myself to engage in lessons, share visual media, go over homework assignments and interact just as easily as if I were there in person. This is an excellent option for students who are located outside of my driving radius as well as those whose schedules require tutoring outside of regular hours. In fact, many of my students actually prefer the online option precisely because it is so easy. If you are interested in this type of tutoring you can contact me and I can guide you through the process. You can also contact Boost Academy or Wyzant directly and ask for me by name.
